In 2002, California Soldiers Widows Home Association changed its name to Military Women In Need to more correctly reflect the women our organization supports.

California Soldiers Widows Home Association was founded in 1920 to assist widows of those who served in any of the United States Armed Forces, and mothers whose sons were lost in the name of our country. The organization has provided housing and subsidy assistance for over 80 years, assisting military women in need through the Spanish-American War, both World Wars, the Korean War and Vietnam.
